Editorial verdict

Houseroom's view of the school.

teaching

Every pupil has an individually created curriculum based on their needs, motivation and learning trajectory. ABA forms the backbone of teaching, with therapists working alongside teachers. Three classrooms are separated by closed doors; a quiet therapy room supports short-term interventions. Pupils are gently pushed beyond their comfort zones to build coping and self-advocacy skills. Provision includes Lego therapy, music therapy, play therapy and food technology. Selected national curriculum components are integrated, and cultural and religious education is offered. Trips to local parks, shops, soft play centres and Battersea Park Children's Zoo are included. Pupils progress from one-to-one

pastoral

Head David Beezadhur and director of therapy Mikaela Green are both passionate about early intervention. Ms Green has two decades of experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and is an expert in supporting families with acquiring and maintaining EHCPs. Teachers work alongside therapists; staff enjoy mindfulness days and a weekly shared breakfast, reflecting a supportive working environment.

pastoral

Pastoral care is central to the school's ethos. Families, nannies and other carers receive education covering sleep, eating, toilet training and behaviour in public, with staff visiting each home personally. Monthly one-to-one meetings assess progress and address any issues. Regular coffee mornings bring together parents, caregivers, children and staff.
