About Houseroom

Houseroom is the operating system for UK independent-school admissions. We track every published open day, registration window, and assessment date across hundreds of schools, and send parents verified WhatsApp or SMS alerts before each one — backed by a unified application tracker that replaces the spreadsheet.

Who we are

We are a small independent team based in London. A board of advisors is joining shortly. We are not a magazine, a consultancy, or a school. We are an independent tool, funded directly — never by schools, agents, or sponsored placements.

What we do — and don't do

• We do verify data against public sources (DfE, ISI, GIAS, Charity Commission, school websites) and show parents where each fact came from.
• We do let schools claim their listing to add or correct information — for free.
• We don't sell ranking placements, run sponsored content, or take referral fees from schools or agents.
• We don't publish rumours from anonymous tips as fact.

Why we exist

The UK independent-school admissions process is a multi-year project running across thirty-plus moving parts per family. Most parents track it in a spreadsheet that misses deadlines, with help from WhatsApp groups that disagree on dates. Houseroom replaces that with verified data and reliable alerts, so nothing important falls through the cracks.
