In the school’s words

A Junior School Open Day will give you a unique opportunity on a normal day at school to find out what life is really like as a pupil at Notting Hill & Ealing Junior School. There will be a tour by our Year 6 students and you will be able to hear from our Head of Junior School, Ms Kate Bevan, and see our Senior School. And of course, ask lots of questions.

How many girls join the Senior School at 11+?

We welcome a substantial cohort into Year 7 (11+ entry) each year. This intake brings together a mixture of transitioning pupils from our own Junior School and a large percentage of external applicants arriving from various state primary and independent prep schools.

Do you accept overseas applications?

Yes, we accept applications from international and overseas students. Overseas applications incur a non-refundable registration processing fee of £300, and appropriate arrangements must be made to sit the mandatory entry testing components.

How will you assess my daughter for 11+ entry and what does the assessment involve?

The 11+ entry evaluation is holistic, consisting of three main factors: the online London 11+ Consortium entrance exam, a thorough and confidential reference from her current primary school headteacher, and an interactive, personal interview process hosted in January.

What entrance test will my daughter need to take for Senior School?

Applicants take the unified, bespoke 100-minute online adaptive assessment designed by the London 11+ Consortium. The exam covers Mathematics, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, English Comprehension, and non-adaptive problem-solving and analysis modules.

How should my daughter prepare for the test?

We actively discourage intensive commercial tutoring or stressful exam preparation. The test is adaptive and maps to regular Year 5 national curricula. Free familiarization materials are provided online by the Consortium to help girls understand the system layout and remove testing anxiety.

When and where should my daughter sit the entrance test?

Candidates can sit the entrance test either here at NHEHS, at any other alternative London 11+ Consortium school to which they are formally applying, or directly at their own primary school if their current school is registered as an official test sitting center.

What Pastoral Care do you offer?

Pastoral care is our highest priority. Class teachers and form tutors are directly responsible for each girl's academic and social development. We operate an open, encouraging atmosphere where girls are always welcome to talk to their teachers, year heads, or our specialized pastoral support staff regarding any worries.
