When can I apply?

You can register your interest with our Admissions Department at any point. Our admissions cycle runs a year ahead of the September that your daughter would start at Withington and this is when you would apply. Admissions Timetables

What is the admissions process?

To apply for a place to start in the following September, you need to complete an application form before the deadline (December). Please note there is a non-refundable application fee of £66. We strongly recommend that your family visit us during the autumn term or earlier.

When are the entrance examinations?

How do you assess potential pupils?

Accepted Answer

Junior School entry - by an entrance assessment in English and Maths. Girls will also complete a short, taught task. We do not penalise wrong answers, so applicants are encouraged to have a go, even when unsure. Senior School entry - by examination and interview. There are papers in English, Maths. Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning.

What happens if my daughter is ill on the day of the examination?

We hold a supplementary examination soon after the original date for girls who are ill on the day, or who are unable to get to Withington due to other unavoidable circumstances.

When do we find out if we have been offered a place?

Accepted Answer

In March we email and/or post a letter to all the candidates who have been interviewed. The letter will: Contain an offer of a place, or Contain an offer of a place on the reserve list, or Indicate that we are unable to offer a place. The date for you to accept or reject any offer is usually around two weeks after the offer letters are posted and will be indicated within the letter.
