The bursary programme

Eligibility

Academic Bursaries: for parents applying for an Academic Bursary, a separate Bursary application must be completed and submitted by 1st November deadline to be considered. Specialist Bursaries: separate Bursary application must also be completed alongside Specialist Scholarship application/s and submitted by the 1st November deadline to be considered. Parents asked to indicate interest in applying for a Specialist Bursary on the child’s initial Registration Form by no later than 1st November.

How bursary applications work

1. Register your child for a place before the registration deadline — a bursary is applied for alongside, not instead.
2. Complete the school's financial form (some schools use an external assessor) with P60s, tax returns, bank and savings statements.
3. Many schools arrange a home visit between the assessment and the offer.
4. The bursary decision usually arrives with, or shortly after, the offer — before you must accept.
5. Awards are reassessed each year, so a change in circumstances can change the award.
