Editorial verdict

Houseroom's view of the school.

head

Principal James Allder Since 2023, James Allder. Read geography at King’s College, London. After a brief stint in the city and an LPC at the College of Law, realisation dawned: he needed to change tack. Joining Collingham as a geography teacher, he worked his way through

ethos

Founded in 1975, initially a tutorial college for pupils resitting exams after disappointing results or leaving mainstream school for a raft of reasons, it has now evolved into a hybrid school/tutorial college. Fewer resits these days with the bulk

teaching

In 2025, 27 per cent 9-7 at GCSE;. 53 per cent A\*/A at A level (28 per cent A\*-B). A levels or equivalent - Average points score (2025) ### Teaching & learning Flexibility is one of Collingham’s USPs and students have many options beyond the entirely conventional. Timetables are manipulated to accommodate pretty much any subject or combination of subjects and there is a willingness to break with the Qualifications taken in 2024 A level EPQ GCSE
