Academic lessons are held during the first three days of the week (Monday–Wednesday), with vocational education on Thursday and Friday. GCSE results are described as impressive, with students sitting exams in eight to nine subjects, underpinned by excellent curriculum-centred teaching. Should a pupil opt out of further vocational training in Year 11, they leave prepared for other academic opportunities.

Pupils thrive in an intimate, supportive family atmosphere. Students who choose not to continue vocational training in Year 11 are described as leaving as fully-rounded young adults prepared for whatever life throws at them.
