About this programme

Chetham's Orchestral Course is part of Chetham's Summer School, held at Chetham's School of Music in Manchester city centre from 9 to 15 August 2027. It covers orchestral performance for intermediate to advanced players aged 11 to 17 on any orchestral instrument except guitar and saxophone, with sectional work in small groups led by Chetham's faculty and shared activities with the piano and vocal courses. Applicants should play at ABRSM Grade 4 or above and no audition is needed. Residential places cost £1,300 and day places £1,200, covering tuition, social activities, meals and the final concerts; a 10% sibling discount and payment in five instalments are offered.
