About this programme

King's College London's Pre-University Summer School is for students aged 16 or 17 in their final three years of school. Each course lasts one week (Monday to Friday) and students can combine two or three courses; subjects in 2026 included Law, Medical Science, Business Management, Psychology, Politics, Computer Science and Neuroscience. Teaching mixes lectures and seminars, with university-style assignments and a certificate on completion. Students can attend as day students or take the residential package, which adds a single en-suite room at Stamford Street Apartments with breakfast and dinner. The 2026 fee was £3,195 per one-week course (£3,965 residential), plus a £65 application fee.
Schedule
Week-long modules with a mix of lectures, seminars, discussion groups and guest-speaker sessions; supervised academic day Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm.

1:12 (residential summer assistants, max.)

Entry

Open to academically motivated students aged 16-17 (must be 16 before the course start date and not turn 18 before the programme ends). Applicants submit official high school grades, a personal statement and evidence of English proficiency to at least CEFR B2 (e.g. IELTS 6.0).

Paying

  • Full refund if cancelled within 14 days of paying the tuition fee. After that, 50% of tuition is refunded up to 28 days before the course starts and nothing after; the £65 application fee is non-refundable.
