About This Programme
The Wilderness Foundation UK runs nature-based children's holiday camps in Essex, where days are child-led and built around activities such as den building, bug hunting, imaginative play and building with natural materials. Ranger Camps at the Chatham Green education centre are for ages 5 to 11, Neurodiversity Camps for ages 9 to 14, and Wilderness Forest Camps at the Mann Wood site near Great Leighs for secondary-age 11 to 16 year olds. The camps are run by the Wilderness Foundation, a registered charity focused on connecting young people with nature.
- Schedule
- Child-led outdoor day camps with den building, bug hunting, natural-materials crafts and imaginative play; Ranger Camps run Monday to Thursday over the summer holidays.
Admission Requirements
Open to young people aged 5-11; no prior experience required (advance notice requested for additional supervision/SEN needs)
