Overview
About Eltham College
Eltham College is a leading independent co-educational day school in the UK with high academic standards. Entrance is by selection based on academic merit and assessment of the student’s likely positive contribution to the College. The majority of students join at key entry points 7+, 11+, or 16+, with limited places at 8+ and occasional spaces in other year groups subject to availability and waiting lists. Scholarships are open to all applicants entering the Senior School in Year 7 or Sixth Form, and bursaries may be awarded to Senior School and Sixth Form parents needing financial assistance.

Our take
Independent co-ed all-through school in Bromley for ages 4–18. Selective entry, other ethos.
Best for
- Families wanting one school across the whole journey (ages 4–18) rather than separate prep + senior.
- Families who prefer a co-educational setting over single-sex.
- Families who value a other ethos in school life.
- Children who can demonstrate strong academics at entry assessment — this is a selective school.
Watch-outs
- Selective entry — assume some form of assessment at the relevant entry point. Plan tutoring or familiarisation early if needed.
- The other ethos shapes assemblies, holidays and pastoral life. Comfortable for committed families; worth thinking about for those of other or no faith.
